Ukrainian presidential advisor Serhiy Beskrestnov confirms Elon Musk's Space X crippled Ukrainian capabilities last night. In other words, the US deliberately sabotaged European defence operations mid-mission. Every country in the world should move away from buying American hardware ASAP.
"I can confirm that tonight SpaceX has implemented a speed limit on Starlink terminals while in motion.

The limit currently applies to the StarShield “military package” and is set at 100 mph.

Our defense forces were not given notice of this limit, and this has resulted in the disruption of a number of missions.

It is clear that this action cannot be a coincidence and is related to the current political situation."

The fines should be ruinously expensive for drunk driving your $100k sports car at 120 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. Yet here, the cops brag that in total it'll come to "at least $2,400" and that the speed fines themselves only account for about $350 of that. www.castanet.net/news/Vernon/...
Upon stopping, the officer issued a mandatory alcohol screen, which resulted in two fail readings. Police seized his license and issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition, 30 day notice of impoundment and a violation ticket for excessive speed (41 to 60 km/h over the limit) which equalled to $368.

The driver will also face impound fees, administrative penalties, high-risk driver premiums, and a licence re-instatement fee that will bring total costs to at least $2,400.

So why is the firefighter's union in #yyj endorsing someone who makes transphobic tweets? They're talking a lot about public safety, but I guess the safety of trans people doesn't count.
Screenshot of tweet from Toronto Sun with picture of Alberta premier Danielle Smith at a podium. Caption is "Alberta seeks to block trans athletes from female competition but can't say how many will be impacted". Response from Wendy Bowkett, Victoria council hopeful who is being aggressively endorsed by the Victoria Fire Fighters' Union, reads: "Great to see government stepping up to protect woman's and girl's rights and safeguarding children. Wish we could see more of this across the country and around the world". Screenshot of tweet with pictures from a protest for trans rights from Randy Boissonnault. Randy's tweet reads "trans rights are human rights. It's long past time for Premier Smith to stop attacking the most vulnerable in Alberta. We must protect and support trans youth."
Response from Victoria council hopeful Wendy Bowkett who is being aggressively endorsed by the Victoria Firefighter's Union: "Men's rights are men's rights. Always have been, always will be. Now stand up for women's and girl's rights. We haven't had them for long, so stop trying to give them away. We say NO. No means no."

A lot of rich guys want you to think that the bar on the right is always going to be bigger than the bar on the left.
Vertical bar chart titled "Norwegian wealth tax revenue, change from 2021 to 2024," in billions of Norwegian kroner (BNOK), nominal. Subtitle: top rate 0.85% to 1.1% and stock valuation discount cut from 2022.

Two bars. "Growth with no emigration": 13.71 BNOK, a tall bar. "Lost to reform-driven emigration": 0.65 BNOK, a barely visible stub, about one-twenty-first the height.

Notes: Growth includes the rate and valuation changes and wealth growth. Net of tax that emigrants still paid, the reform-driven loss is 0.49 BNOK.

It's worth noting that in the olden days (like, 15 years ago) areas like White Rock/South Surrey, the Tri-Cities, or Ridge Meadows had 5-15 reporters solely dedicated to local community news. There was a business model that supported that, and it's a huge issue that no longer exists.
