Some people had an absolutely Priapic hard-on for going after this guy, even after he literally killed himself! Like the level of hatred they seem to have is just pathological - they should all seek professional help. Seriously.

So this "CAF" seems to be a right-wing front group, for right-wing conservatives like Pinker, Cofnas, and Orr, all birds of a disgustingly racist feather. Wonder if they'll all meet on Little St. James and raise a pint to good ol' Jeffrey?

What. The. Fuck? This seems really wild - maybe it's not in British academia, but on a human level, it seems borderline insane. Right?

Epstein client... sorry, friend Steven Pinker? The guy who hired an intern to scan Twitter to block anyone who posted the words "Pinker" and "Epstein" in the same post?

Like, that doesn't smell right. Why didn't they just appoint James fucking Orr himself to the panel? "Oh, well, forgive and forget when it comes to bribery and electoral corruption, but we gotta get out the rectal probe for each and every black person ever hired!"

HOLY SHIT THAT'S INSANE! Pinker is at this point a widely known "classical liberal" (think "conservative without the balls to come out and admit it"). I got blocked by him long ago for tweeting about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, but I'm pretty sure Pinker's said stuff about Arday?

American small business owners largely see themselves as lower-level rentiers in a quasi-feudal economy as opposed to service providers in a competitive market economy, and part of that means not having to actually be competent at providing services

Power is, in part, an ability to act with greater impact and less constraint. The more powerful you are, the more prone you are to ecisions that orient around this other rationality: to *feel* powerful, to *feel* satisfied, to pursue what we might call libidinal profit

I know every generation has their whiny "kids these days" gripes but I do think this will become a problem for humanity long term. www.wsj.com/opinion/amer...
Daniel Akst’s book review—“Is Reading a Dead Letter?” (Bookshelf, Oct. 8) of James Marriott’s “The New Dark Ages: The Death of Reading and the Dawn of the Post-Literate Society”—paints a disturbing picture of what is rapidly becoming an illiterate society.

As a professor in my 57th year at Johns Hopkins, I can report that neither Mr. Akst’s review nor Mr. Marriott’s book exaggerate. When I arrived, a green rookie, I asked a Hopkins legend and great pedagogue, Prof. G. Wilson Shaffer, for advice. He counseled that, for the best results, one should throw students into the deep end of the Milton S. Eisenhower Library and see if they can swim. Shaffer’s method worked like a charm.

But, about 10 years ago, I detected that troubles were brewing. I would ask students, juniors and seniors, to return library books for me, and they would ask where the library was. The first few times this happened, I thought they were pulling my leg. But they weren’t. They informed me that they had never been in the library. When I asked whether they had ever read a book that wasn’t a textbook, the shocking answer was often “no.”

Unfortunately, with each passing year, the descent into a “culture of illiteracy” has only accelerated.

It's the orgasmic culmination of the conservative project, which, ultimately, means the end of the concept of the citizen or member of any organization that potentially flattens hierarchy. You'll have patrons and clients, and that's it. It's coming for everyone, believe it.

I think the ultimate goal is citizenship as a weapon, something that is subject to the whim of the rulers, for EVERYONE. Won't matter if your family has been in North America since 1650, won't matter what your skin color is - your very existence will be predicated on the whims of your rulers.

I suspect there are a lot of people who are thinking, sure, they'd deport a Muslim Congresswoman, but they'd never deport, say, some white investigative journalist catching them in a lie or some random housewife who put up a viral tiktok mocking them that went viral. But they absolutely will.

I get why people are viewing this as a Culture War thing, but I think it's best to view it as a trial balloon. If they get permission from SCOTUS to deport a US citizen who is a sitting member of Congress, they'll be able to deport any adversary or critic for any reason. And they absolutely will.

The other thing is--DOJ is denaturalizing people who were committing or had committed crimes they didn't disclose in their naturalization papers. On those terms, Ghislaine Maxwell should be denaturalized as well (and so deported to the UK where she can be prosecuted anew if Trump releases her).

This ENTIRE timeline is just beyond fucking bizarre. Pedophilia runs rampant in our government... Sycophants compete to publicly fellate a drooling, leprous, senile boor... Trophy wives mutilate themselves in some freakish ritual of MAGA loyalty or whatthefuckever... FUCK. I want a TARDIS.
Viral photograph of Susan Dell in the Oval Office next to a possibly napping Donald Trump, who is irrelevant in the photo, as it is Dell's grotesquely altered visage that is the universal topic of conversation. And rightly fucking so. No amount of faux feminist protesting about "making the conversation about a woman's looks instead of her accomplishments" can distract from the fact this woman has mutilated herself beyond recognition - and into a gruesome freak. If she had a rare disease, as had been suggested, she would not hesitate a MOMENT to publicise it. It isn't a fucking disease. Either Susan Dell has had multiple doctors and medical institutions INDULGE a massive dyspmorphic disorder... or made a deliberate attempt to blend into the psychotic MAGA look (and that is the least plausible one)... Or she has been replaced with a fucking alien. Or a VERY DIFFERENT PERSON. That is either the real Susan Dell mutilated beyond recognition - and that is a PROBLEM - or it is NOT, and THAT is a problem.

Now... the following photo is just what comes IMMEDIATELY to MY mind when I see this fucking ghoul.A screenshot from They Live!, the John Carpenter cult classic about aliens among us. This is the alien woman in the grocery story, seen through the special sunglasses - her skull face with shiny skull eyes, with the wig atop her skull head, on a regular body wearing a black mink coat, give a strangely NORMAL air... And, I would say, she l looks more fucking normal that Susan fucking Dell does.

Okay, not really. But Susan Dell? Looks just as fucking alien and fucked up as this wackjob. It is FUCKING BIZARRE to see CNN defending that freakish face as if there's NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY THERE, FOLKS, PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAGA BEHIND THE SURGEON...
