Same goes for AI workers, who are expected to string together disparate tools and repeat tasks, often wasting incredible amounts of energy, as their supervisors use their extra time to surveil workers. Imagine making a suit by stapling together raw-edged fabric swatches! This is your AI.

Today is the birthday of cartoonist Jackie Ormes (Aug. 1, 1911-Dec. 26, 1985), the first Black woman to create a newspaper comic strip that was read nationally in the US. She created Torchy Brown in Dixie to Harlem, Torchy in Heartbeats & Patty-Jo ‘n’ Ginger. Patty Jo became a toy doll.

Why is smoke from #WoodsideFire in Sonoma County so bad from a small blaze? Winds are being channeled through the Russian River and Petaluma Gap, bringing smoke to the Hwy 101 corridor. A shallow marine layer ~1,500ft w/ hot air above cold air prevents smoky winds from mixing w/ the free atmosphere
