In other words, Schmitt's evidence that Smith went to a Hawks game was incredibly weak. Did they really have nothing more than this? Was the Hawkeye thing just a coincidence, because Schmitt did not present anything related to that (e.g. a communication from Smith saying he went to a Hawkeye game)?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I still don't get this. Schmitt was saying Smith went to a Hawks game. His evidence was texts that mention "Jack" but not from Smith (and the Hawks does not have a 109 row). Yes, Smith went to a Hawkeyes game, but Schmitt did not present any evidence of that.

I actually don't think the Republican Senator mixed up "Hawks" and "Hawkeyes." Going by his own statements, it appears his staff saw he went to a basketball game on that date and googled basketball games and found the only men's game that night in the whole country was in Atlanta.
