What an honour to profile the unparalleled visual artist @carriemaeweems for the 30th birthday/Guest Editor issue of @wallpapermag. Despite knowing her for almost thirty years, she still manages to surprise me. Massive thanks to the inimitable @_hannahsilver_. On newsstands now. #CarrieMaeWeems

I don't know, man, that sounds like bog-standard GOPism at this point. www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2026/...
While Yiannopoulos emerged as a leader in the alt-right movement, he was never accepted as a mainstream conservative figure, given his frequent misogynistic comments, associations with white supremacists and antisemites, and a history of other controversial remarks, such as saying a romantic relationship between a 13-year-old boy and an adult could be consensual — the latter costing him book and speaking opportunities.

I know you all hate the emergency alert about disposable barbeques. But yesterday I watched a man at our hotel breakfast set fire to a toaster by trying to toast a croissant - despite multiple signs telling him not to. Today he tried again. So, you know, calibrate for the average person.

The arid backdrop speaks volumes, but Beatrice's analysis is also excellent. The right time for adaptation and mitigation was (at least) 20 years ago. The second best time is now. The worst time is at any point in the future, and the longer the timescale the worse it'll be. Burnham: MIA.

Admirable clarity @science.org
The Trump administration hates academic science funding, full stop. They hate where that money goes, and they hate who it goes to. They want to keep all that money for themselves, to hand out to favored cronies who can help them get elected and to steer yet more money and more power back into their hands.

That’s it. That’s the story
