The landscape is punctuated by granite quarries, copper mines & evidence of neolithic activity..

The town of Oleshky and its surrounding district in the occupied part of Kherson Oblast exist under Russian occupation as a prison — and it is rapidly turning into a death camp. No one is allowed in or out. The last food delivery was on May 26. Medical supplies are close to non-existent.

From 'A Wounded Landscape - bearing witness to the Holocaust'. Mass grave on a hill to the north of Dachau. Etzenhausen, Germany, October 2016. The site was used by the SS as a mass burial site when the supply of coal used to burn the bodies from Dachau ran out in early 1945.
