Humanities are likewise not immune to this trend. Just in my own niche, I've seen numerous specialists in Biblical theology, comparative Semitics, book history, palaeography, etc. get annoyed at the mere suggestion that Orientalism and Eurocentrism are not solved problems.

How not to decipher the Phaistos Disc”.
"One final and frustrating problem with unconvincing decipherments is the length of time and printed space it takes to refute them. To do so here in full is obviously impossible and fortunately not necessary. One will understand, I hope, that the attempts at decipherment examined above (among which is Faucounau's) do not inspire any confidence. It is nevertheless better, perhaps, to let each candidate enjoy his conviction that his decipherment presents the best solution. I would like, however, to conclude with a hopeful message: each correct decipherment eventually ends up being recognized for its true value. Consequently, decipherers should be completely confident that, if their decipherment is correct, it will triumph in the end over all competitors and critics."

Tomado de Mackay, A. (1965) "On the type-fount of the Phaistos disc", Statistical Methods in Linguistics 4, 15–25.

Today in “Arabic dialects don’t come from classical Arabic”. Several dialects have a pronominal -t ending, e.g., Egyptian an-nās dōlat, “those/these people”. This, afaik, isn’t attested in classical Arabic but is found in several other Semitic languages. This feature thus didn't come from MSA.
(43) Pronouns with -V in Semitic
a. Akkadian
i. 3ms šuʾāti
ii. 3fs šiʾāti
b. Classical Ethiopic
i. 3ms wəʾətu
ii. 3fs yəʾəti
c. Ugaritic
i. 3ms hwt
ii. 3fs hyt
Given the data in 43, one can safely reconstruct a dual third person paradigm for proto Semitic:
(44) Proto-Semitic reconstruction
a. 3ms *suʾa / *suʾati
b. 3fs *siʾa / *siʾati
