Humanities are likewise not immune to this trend. Just in my own niche, I've seen numerous specialists in Biblical theology, comparative Semitics, book history, palaeography, etc. get annoyed at the mere suggestion that Orientalism and Eurocentrism are not solved problems.

Today in “Arabic dialects don’t come from classical Arabic”. Several dialects have a pronominal -t ending, e.g., Egyptian an-nās dōlat, “those/these people”. This, afaik, isn’t attested in classical Arabic but is found in several other Semitic languages. This feature thus didn't come from MSA.
(43) Pronouns with -V in Semitic
a. Akkadian
i. 3ms šuʾāti
ii. 3fs šiʾāti
b. Classical Ethiopic
i. 3ms wəʾətu
ii. 3fs yəʾəti
c. Ugaritic
i. 3ms hwt
ii. 3fs hyt
Given the data in 43, one can safely reconstruct a dual third person paradigm for proto Semitic:
(44) Proto-Semitic reconstruction
a. 3ms *suʾa / *suʾati
b. 3fs *siʾa / *siʾati

What is the Jews' problem (ideologically speaking, according to Biale)? "The very rapidity with which the Jews have moved from powerlessness to power has produced a crisis of Jewish ideology" namely: our political theories are all still responding to an ahistorical self-image of impotence.
The very rapidity with which the Jews have moved from
powerlessness to power has produced a crisis of Jewish ide-
ology. The ways in which Jews conceive of politics were
developed in Eastern Europe at the turn of the century; the
great ideologies of Zionism, Bundism, socialism, and liberal-
ism were all responses to the increasing impotence of the
Jews of Europe, an impotence that culminated in the Holo-
caust. Although some of these ideologies no longer exist and
others have changed drastically, they remain the vocabulary
of Jewish politics. Today, these forms of discourse appear
increasingly irrelevant in the light of the achievement of
Jewish sovereignty in Israel and the relative political power
of the Jewish Diaspora in the West, especially in the United
States. In both Israel and the Diaspora, a new political lan-
guage is only beginning to emerge, a language for under-
standing both the possibilities and the limitations of Jewish
political power in the modern world.
