No, but they're financially doped from selling their hotels and women's team to each other. The rules could easily be written so no one can outspend the rest, but instead are fixed so the establishment are the only ones who can spend. Restrictions based on the past will always be protectionist.

This is the point though. The Red Cartel teams are the only ones allowed a squad capable of sustaining Europe and PL for more than a season. You can pretend it helps the little teams but it's smoke and mirrors. This is the only faux "success" the rest are allowed specifically because of the rules.

1st half was good and we should have been home and hosed. The change of shape and Miley's drop off from RB to CM were the problems. A well timed international break and one or more of the "Big" lads (Joe, DB, Willy) will be more than welcome. Three at the back will always send shivers down my spine.

We went through them at will down the middle and at least 3 balls went straight across the 6 yard box. We looked really solid as well. Miley was excellent at RB. Then it went to shit, so I'm going to pretend the game was only 66 mins long.

That was a stroll for 70 mins but all changed when Steur went off & we went 3 at the back. Miley went from a very solid RB (his best position imo) to a shambles in midfield again. Last 20 was an onslaught and we were lucky to hang on in the end. We need a few (big) bodies back after the break #nufc

I'm pretty sure the rules could be written so that no one team could massively outspend the others but instead they are set so that only a small handful can spend at all. Any "other" team is punished for even minor success by having their best players taken from them to further strengthen the 6.

It is more memorable. I never thought I'd see us win a thing and my 13 y.o. son had the best day of his life. But to see that team dismantled because some teams are allowed to pay them more than others is plain wrong. And it shouldn't have to be a one off. That is just the illusion of competition.

We're not allowed our first choices because they have to be shared amongst the cartel. The market we're in will be busiest in the last week of the window as most of those players will choose their best offer at the last minute and unfortunately/deliberately that is after the season starts.

I do think an increase in "proper" (usually northern) teams can only be a good thing. I'm going to sound a prick here but Bournemouth, Brentford etc only prove you can get by on the TV money alone. Nothing against them and obviously well run but you shouldn't get away with L1 crowds in the PL.
