Yes, I want everyone in attendance at this rally to be miserable, impoverished, and cut off from access to the privileges and luxuries of the civilized world for the rest of their lives, and I won't be shamed for thinking it.

Trump and Hegseth opened Pandora's Box here and we don't have the fiscal resources to slam it shut again. I say we contain the collateral damage as best we can from a distance and also take as many talented and hardworking immigrants as the region offers.

Conservatives are so embarrassing and predictable. All of their issues nakedly displayed, covid mask, fat, woman, blue hair, and fictional levels of violence. They don't have the courage of their convictions. They claim to support the killing of Renée Good, but they have to gussy her up.

Anders Breivik's "punishment" has been to lounge around in his state-funded studio apartment for 15 years and watch the once-fringe ideology he murderously promoted explode worldwide; meanwhile, the likes of McVeigh or Shoko Asahara are too busy burning in hell to take their respective victory laps.

When people ask "universities sit on a billion dollar endowment, why don't they spend it on scholarships?" The answer is: "because the people who gave the money conditioned it on spending it on building a campus in Miami."

It really gives the game away when the anti trans orgs are calling the election of the neo nazi party in Germany a "glimmer of hope."
A screenshot of an online article headline from "Inspecting Gender" by Genspect. The main heading reads: "Germany: A Glimmer of Hope for Sex Realists?" Below the title, the summary text asks: "Is the victory of the AfD in Germany a dark day for democracy or a glimmer of hope for sex realists? By David Allison." The bottom metadata displays the Genspect logo, "5 hours ago," and a "Listen" audio option button. In the top right corner, there is a teal "Subscribe" button alongside a circular profile avatar.

if we were numerate enough--if we understood how many women and girls are made sacrifice to the altar of promising young men with bright futures--we might not survive it. accounting for that loss will take the rest of my life, and yours. but we've got to; that's the only way of killing the thing.

A friend pointed out to me that people's "social scripts" used to come from fiction (novels, TV, movies) written by professional storytellers, and now they come from reality TV and short form video content, where the words largely come from attention-seeking amateurs. It has made us worse.

(11/X) the GOP will have a good 2030. We'll be told it was Democrats' fault for being too woke and out of touch, for doing too much and not doing enough at the same time. For trying to reform SCOTUS, for not having enough Sister Souljah moments, for allowing the Bluesky left to say LatinX.

These people are ridiculous. The Hebrew they are referring to is a quote from the Torah, "צֶ֥דֶק צֶ֖דֶק תִּרְדֹּ֑ף" ("Justice, justice, shall you pursue"). Some people want actual justice, others just want Jews to erase every part of our peoplehood, including our Torah. In the name of progressivism. So gross.

I would argue that the US has been in a condition of political violence since about 1995. We've seen a pretty steady stream of right-wing bombings, murders, and mass shootings since then, most of them VERY EXPLICIT about their political motivations. However, we've resisted seeing and naming it.

A child is a *person*, a *human being*. Among a parent's many responsibilities to their child is to occasionally suffer an indignity on the child's behalf. You don't get to volunteer them for Russian roulette because a pediatrician was a misogynist dick to you and some Instagram influencer wasn't.
