My only other comment on the NYT list is that for the longest time I thought it was so annoying how people went on and on about The Wire. We get it. American decline etc etc. Then my now-wife got me to watch it and it turns out everyone's right that it's the best show of all time

I don't have a problem ranking 30 Rock as the 8th best TV show, it's one of the funniest shows ever, but "rigorously structured"? The show has tenuous continuity and barely makes any sense. It's a sitcom done by sketch writers who only care about doing bits (which is why it's good)
