According to Luke Tryl on Radio 4 disillusioned Reform voters think Farage is “just the same as the rest” on the corruption front. But he isn’t is he? He’s exponentially worse. And his grifter tendency has been obvious for a very long time.

🧵On @thenewsagents.co.uk yesterday, school closures and the lab leak theory were offered as two examples of legitimate questions that were hard to ask. Both have in fact been asked constantly since 2020. But here's a thread on why I think they were wrong and dangerous on school closures 1/12

🧵The Covid Inquiry’s latest reports have made one thing brutally clear: the first year of the pandemic - and especially the second Covid wave in winter 2020/21 - was devastating. Much of that devastation was avoidable. This 🧵: impact on NHS, impact on bereaved, and avoidable harm. 1/19

Email just sent to today @ bbc . co . uk #bbcpm
Text of the email

Two BBC slogans - "Inform, Educate, Entertain" and "The fight for truth is on"

One point from your own Joe Pike on this morning's Today programme - "The public don't necessarily have a strong handle on the reality of the numbers in the UK, particularly when you're comparing illegal compared to legal migration, and arguably the media has played a role on this".

And one point from Sir Geoffrey Nice on this evening's PM - "Now is the time to educate and inform properly and fairly".

What have the media done to educate and inform on this subject, and what have you failed to do?

I don’t want to be too shrill about this but I think the BBC, ITV and Sky have disgraced themselves in their coverage of the anti-refugee protests. A massive failure of judgement. But now we know the next time a progressive protest “isn’t news” that it’s nothing to do with numbers
