Also this reminds me of the sticker sheet I CANNOT bring myself to use (from @bouletcorp.bsky.social I think?) (this was a while ago) I love ALL of these cheeses yes even the ones that look a LITTLE BIT SHADY
two sheets of unused stickers featuring many, many kinds of cheese, personified into little guys with eyes, hands, and legs in most cases. they are very expressive.

has anyone else noticed that the classic sci fi novel Don't Create The Torment Nexus features a Torment Nexus? That's pretty problematic of the author

firestorm09890
the main character eventually recognizes the torment nexus is bad but by that point I had already stopped reading the book because I don't condone the torment nexus, the narrative really should've condemned it outright :/

some-sort-of-humanoid-lifeform
Really it's also problematic that you started reading it, at all. I mean, good on you for stopping when you realized but if you were *really* a good and decent person you would have read reviews first and known not to even buy it in the first place.

Having to develop 20 unique rooms in a few days feels like a bit of a challenge, but when Jay Dragon told me the Wanderhome picklists got built over one weekend (I might be OVERestimating), I felt confident I could do something for this that'd be enough for the game night.

I know this is not the biggest concern going these days, but it stresses me out that basically every artist/writer/critic is now expected to create their own tiny empire instead of getting paid by any existing entity to perform a job they've worked to get good at!!!!

mad how the defining cultural image of Steamboat Willie is Mickey whistling and driving the boat, and not the bit where he plays a pig's nipples as a musical instrument while it shrieks in pain

One of my sidequests in the last year has been to argue for indie TTRPG's inclusion in the art world, partially so that I can apply for arts funding, display work in artistic spaces, and potentially make space in a new(er) niche. It's been..interesting! Needs more practice. But the idea is solid.

I frequently describe ttrpg theory as people extrapolating the Wright Brothers' plane into space travel and I won't stop. We don't have a collective theory of what a roleplaying game is but we're very confident we know exactly how many entries in a roll table is ideal.

The Third Edition of Building Blocks of Tabletop Game Design is releasing in July! New mechanics have been added, but more importantly we expanded many entries, included more pictures, and now have questions at the end of each chapter to help game educators. Third time's the charm? 🎲✂️

I don't know yet how to get my Bluesky feed to look like my Twt feed originally did. It probably never will, but I feel like I'm still on the outside of the indie analog game community. I feel like there's a door or community "starter pack" or ??? I have to join that'll reconfigure this feeling.

For The Guardian , I visited CosMc’s on Day 1 to see what a drive-thru-only business is like. The cars, the drinks, the whole setup was bad. This divestment in customers (and humans in general) isn’t a step towards a space-age future, it’s a step backwards. More: www.theguardian.com/business/202...
