On August 15, DNC members will vote on a proposal to ban RCV in states' presidential primaries. This policy is being put forward by just a few members of the party's rules committee. This isn't inevitable. Let's take action to protect the choices of states and voters across the country.

Folarin Balogun is barred from media activities today and the #USMNT can only appeal his red card if FIFA hand him a multi-game ban and in that case, they can only appeal to reduce the ban to one game — he will definitely miss the round of 16 game against Belgium

How do you become that guy? Well, you create something that attracts people's attention. That stands out from the crowd. And thus began a global arms race to discover what sort of material resonates most deeply with the largest number of human beings. And no one is checking anyone for accuracy.

You technically can run lies on the newspaper or TV, but the institutions set up to publish papers or broadcast news generally did not want to. They had internal standards; they saw their integrity as something to protect. They were competing against institutions with similar standards.

Most of our information about the world is delivered secondhand, from other people. We are extremely attuned to apparent consensuses and beliefs among other people, as well. Our sense of what is real depends on perceptions of others. Look at how baby names and music trends and fashion propagate!

The key technological or structural change that has defined our age is the collapsing cost of publishing to a mass audience. Previously, it requires hundreds of thousands of dollars and dozens of people (print) or millions and hundreds (television). Now it requires $400 for a phone, and TikTok.

You do not hate the DOGE people enough. Boys with toys breaking things they were too arrogant and lazy to understand.
Because the inquiry was framed only in terms of whether a project "relate[d] at all to DEI" (whatever that might mean to ChatGPT), projects whose abbreviated descriptions contained general references to "history," "culture," or "identity" were frequently identified by ChatGPT as relating to DEI. For example, a project to recover and analyze ancient writings attributed to Moses but excluded from the canonical Hebrew Bible and preserved in fragmentary form (e.g., the Book of Jubilees and the Testament of Moses) was classified as DEI because it claimed to "provide important insight into Jewish thought from two thousand years ago, complementary to insight from the Dead Sea Scrolls and the New Testament." Dkt. No. 248-11, at 99, C461-1461 (emphasis added). The project description reflects a highly technical effort involving multispectral imaging,
textual reconstruction, and the recovery of deteriorated source materials. Id. Yet, the assigned
rationale consists of a single sentence linking the project to "Jewish thought," which ChatGPT
considered to be aligned with "DEI" goals. Id.
