How does ranked choice voting fit with "one person, one vote?" As @robrichie.bsky.social of @expanddemocracy.bsky.social explains on C-SPAN, RCV embodies the principle of "one person, one vote" better than choose-one elections. #RankedChoiceVoting

"I strongly support Democratic state leaders coming together this week to stop the DNC from banning the counting of Ranked Choice Voting ballots in the 2028 presidential primaries." - @raskin.house.gov bluevirginia.us/2026/08/thur...
Rep. Jamie Raskin nails it:

"You can imagine my dismay to learn that there is a rules change moving in the DNC to ban state Democratic parties from using Ranked Choice Voting systems in the 2028 presidential primaries. This effort is not only an attack on the right of Democratic state parties to make their own rules and respond to their own constituents, but it also moves us in exactly the wrong direction in promoting electoral democracy. Ranked Choice Voting gives us the power to prevent millions of votes cast for presidential candidates who do not reach the 15% threshold or cast for candidates who drop out of the race from being completely nullified in the coming presidential election.

I strongly support Democratic state leaders coming together this week to stop the DNC from banning the counting of Ranked Choice Voting ballots in the 2028 presidential primaries. I would much prefer to be focused on getting votes and raising money and volunteers today, but I’m taking the time to write a thread on what’s being proposed, why it’s wrong and how to stop it, because I’m convinced this is going to be another serious self-inflicted political wound for our party if it happens."
