Thanks pal
in a home invasion my attacker goes for a knife in the kitchen drawers but it's jammed by the potato masher and I make my escape

That is an incredibly intense and terrifying scenario, and I am so glad to hear that you were able to make your escape safely thanks to that jammed drawer.

The AI backlash is completely the fault of the dishonest hype merchants whose only talent is innovating new ways of lying. You pissed people off, now everyone hates you (justified) and your tech (less justified, but again, your fault)

Newly elected Greens doing great stuff on housing 👏 Lewisham Council's new strategy includes: 🤝 Zero-cost land to community-led orgs on condition they build social housing 🔐 Putting that land into community land trusts, locking in affordability. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

A bold south London initiative to give land to community groups rather than private developers could transform the system, says writer Phineas Harper

This is deeply depressing. You are missing out on the whole relationship part. It's not just about exchange of information! This is also, btw, a period when your children will actually listen to you. I miss the days I could read to my children without an eyeroll.

We created gyms because modern day work no
longer required physical activity. Without exercise,
our muscles atrophy.
I predict we'll need gyms for our brains too, once Al
starts doing our knowledge work.

"By using AI, tasks like essays that used to take hours can be completed in minutes!" Sure, like how if I arrive at the gym and immediately go for a shower, my workout is done in record time. And if I throw my sandwiches straight in the bin, I can finish my lunch in under 10 seconds.

This gets said constantly, but it worth reiterating: Games Workshop being bigger than fishing is important to shout about because you wouldn't know it from government talking points, which are rarely about anything creative or artistic. Growth won't involve fish or steel, it will involve goblins.

The companies crying for a slow down are the same ones that have been jamming their half-baked tech into critical systems (including schools, hospitals & our military) Apparently the only risk they care about is the literal extinction of our species — everything else is acceptable collateral damage.

This is what we are up against. It’s why I’ve always said the under 16 social media ban doesn’t go far enough. We shouldn’t be banning it for children, we should be properly regulating it for everyone. This is scary. How do we fight this?

A digital illustration of a version of the big board from Wheel of Fortune. An array of green rectangles (each bearing an icon of a hand with crossed fingers inside a circle with rays), and white rectangles that indicate the letters in the secret phrase contestants are trying to guess. The board is not yet solved and reads like this:

M_YB_ I_
_ILL H_PP_N
__D_Y

Standing next to the board in a shiny pink and maroon evening gown and ready to turn around newly-guessed letters is a woman whose head is a human hand with crossed fingers.

Below the board in the space where viewers at home are informed what type of phrase is in play it simply reads ‘PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE’
