This is interesting. You get assigned to being born at a random place and time in history, to see what a typical person's life might have been like then. Unfortunately I was born in 1403 in the valley of Mexico and died at age 4 from dysentery.

My reviewing style has changed over time. Rather than litigate every little thing, and pushing my own ideas, I focus only on 2 things: (1) Are the claims interesting/important? (2) Does the evidence support the claims? Most of my reviews these days are short and focused.

This is an example of how nostalgia for the old days is simply nostalgia for when you were younger. The idea that America was a post-racial society in the 1970s/1980s only makes sense if you were literally a child at that time and couldn’t observe what any adult was experiencing.
