Loved writing for this terrific celebration of 50* years of Star Wars, recalling life as a child in 70s/80s Britain, when the thrill of seeing C3PO on Swap Shop or Darth Vader on Pebble Mill was the nearest thing we had to actual SW "content". Out now from whatever newsagents still exist. (*nearly)

Lib Dems will be in an interesting position at the next GE. Normally, you have to deny any plans to enter into a coalition. This time, Ed Davey can say it with the biggest stage wink.

Also, I went to Esther's flat to interview her a few years ago. She was very nice, and gave me tea and cake. Probably should have said that bit first.

Interesting how the headlines are still making this about Widdicombe, when all the comments - and I mean *all* the comments - are about how he and Johannes just need to swap places. Which seems blindingly obvious to anyone with a brain. (Paging the #Strictly producers.)

I find it strange that some people refuse to believe this is the way our decentralised culture works now, that it's possible to be completely ignorant of hugely popular things that don't match your tastes and interests. People aren't lying about that because they think it makes them look cool.

JW George Michael: The Faith Tour. A complete document of Yog in his prime, captured on 35mm film and, for reasons no-one can quite remember, locked in a vault until now. Astonishing. (For authentic 1988 vibes, the screening included fake lighters and some mild heckling from Gary Crowley.)

As someone said on here recently, a feature of late-stage capitalism is that corporations seem increasingly resentful at having to provide actual goods or services, and would really rather we just keep sending them money.

Deleted yesterday's mildly critical post about Josh Widdicombe because I can see he's becoming a victim of unpleasant online bullying. IMO he's got potential to be a good Strictly host - certainly more lively than The Tessbot - but people clearly went into it with their own prejudices.
