Words cannot describe the extreme levels of relief I felt reading these headlines. With a lot of my staple sci-fi suffering from instability and uncertain futures, I'm really glad to see that Ryan Coogler is getting his shot to inject some creative life into one of my all-time favorites.

I'd argue it says everything about the difference in cultural mindsets that while many respected US born filmmakers have been all "Yeah I used genAi in my movie but I'm special & used it morally" while Guillermo Del Toro, Alfonso Cuarón and Alejandro González Iñárritu have all told Ai to fuck off.

So. First episode of Kamen Rider My-th is out. The grander story it's setting out to tell and lore seem like it'll be interesting, or at the very least more coherent than Zeztz, but the vfx-heavy shots look *really* unpolished in comparison to its predecessor.

Reading into the now, sadly, defunct Stargate revival's premise has given me mixed emotions... On the one hand, I'm sure the show would've been perfectly fine, maybe even great... but on the other hand, going the Star Trek 2009 route just feels woefully uninteresting.
