I get that people want hope. You think trans people don't? But we need more than visions and words. We need a governemtn determined to undo what this Labour government has done and Burnham has only carried on where Starmer left off in that regard.

It cannot be overstated how essential the mainstreaming of anti-trans sentiment has been to the rise of the far right. The acceptance of hounding trans people in the media laid a path for everything else. There is no answer to the rise of the far right which does not include combatting transphobia.

Trans women in sport: This table shows how massively out of place the UK is in Europe. The UK is the only country that bans trans women from most sport. Even recently-fascist Hungary is fairer than the UK. Britain is a transphobic outlier.

You know how I keep saying the Times paywall is basically a rattling trapdoor over the demon realm? Well
We have analysed just how obsessed the media was with Jason Arday right up until his death.
We tracked 249 articles about him by UK media. 44 from The Times alone, 43 from The Telegraph, and the list goes on.
The nonsense the media was publishing about him was a perfect representation of how morally bankrupt legacy journalism has become.

Again, I hope Andy Burnham loses by the exact number of trans people in the constituency in Wigan.
A line graph originally from YouGov titled "The number of Britons with a negative opinion of Andy Burnham has increased significantly since mid-May".

One annotation is added to the graph. It is a shaded light-blue vertical band between mid-May and early June with the text, "The week when Andy Burnham u-turned on trans rights". The rating continues to worsen after a crossover in the preceding week.

The original graph is described as follows. The x-axis tracks dates from 14 April to mid-June 2026, whilst the y-axis shows percentages from 0 to 45. Two lines track opinion: a purple line for "Favourable" and a red line for "Unfavourable". Unfavourable opinions start lower, at roughly 28% in April, but sharply increase in mid-May, ending at a high of 41%. Favourable opinions start higher, at roughly 32% in April, remain relatively steady until mid-May, and then gradually drop to end at 30%.

Condemning riots isn't enough. We need policy action, including an immediate appraisal of X as a vehicle for coordinating far-right disorder. And we need political leadership, to challenge white nationalism as an idea, not to validate it daily and then complain when it turns violent.

Labour lost more votes to the Greens than Reform in the locals and their decisions on trans rights have been a major part of that. An obvious way for Burnham to win back voters is not implementing the EHRC code and reversing the Supreme Court decision. But no it’s just more of the same. Fuck Labour

Meet the new toilet monitor, same as the old toilet monitor

Asked about new guidance on single sex spaces, Andy Burnham said: "I think the time has come to take the Supreme Court ruling and the guidance and implement it, but to do it in a way that protects those spaces but does not marginalise already marginalised communities, that's my view.
"My mum and dad brought me up to live and let live. I think Britain needs to get back to a more live and let live' approach to life, not where we're constantly arguing with each other, being judgmental about each other.
"Lets implement the guidance, but to do it in the fairest and most compassionate way possible."
He said he thought Britain had done too much of rerunning arguments. "We've got to stop arguing with each other. We've got to start by finding some common ground and start pulling together," he added.

What the guidance goes even further on is, if you suspect someone is trans, they have no way to disprove it. Even if you have a female passport, you aren't going in the women's gym if someone thinks you're clocky. This is a legal nightmare.
