Today was full of views! #Hiking #MountHood #MtStHelens #MtRainier #MtAdams A classic set of #PNW views from Silver Star Mountain in Washington State. #Stunday #Nature #Mountains #Snow Mount Jefferson was briefly visible along the horizon to the South, but it was being shy. 🫣

A photo of receding mountain ridges with the nearest at bottom, with individual trees visible along it's top and side ridges that descend out of frame to the bottom. The trees and dense first cover appear very dark green against lighter colored brush covering areas between the trees, and some bare rocky areas in light gray along ridgelines.
The next ridge upward in the photo crosses the whole photo from side to side. On the whole it appears bluer from distance, and the trees look like a solid covering of forest in blue green with hints of shaded contours descending the lower slopes.
Above that is a hazy blue distant landscape that rises steadily to a horizontal bank of puffy white clouds.
Above the clouds is a jagged come shaped pointed mountaintop with it's high slopes covered in thin new snow. Darker shaded areas of snow free blue rocky exposures radiate down it's slopes from the summit.

At bottom left there is a view of a closer very steep rocky set of descending grey cliffs with isolated patches of small trees clinging to a few places that aren't drop offs.

The peak on the left is a fairly rounded jump with some dark ridges visible before the cloud obscure the mountains lower flanks. That is a view of the South flanks of Mt St Helens in Washington State.
On the far right is a little less distinct view of a much farther snowy mountain top. That is 14,000 foot Mount Rainier, almost 100 miles away to the North.
Above the cloudy horizon and mountains the sky is a very pale blue that becomes a little darker in a gentle gradient to the top of the photo.

Beyond the foreground mountain are rows of mountain ridges and ranges covered in more green conifer forest with creased ridge and gullies descending into unseen valley bottoms below.
In the distance the green mountainsides are blue from the great distance so the way up to the intermittently visible horizon with the sky, sometimes obscured by a few grey fluffy clouds.
A few irregular grey patches of clouds are scattered above the horizon in the pale blue sky.
To the right side of the horizon looms a large snow covered peak above most of the clouds and all the other mountains. Some texture is visible of it's rugged ridges and a few darker areas of bare stone exposure.
That mountain is 12,000 foot Mt Adams in Washington State.

The sky seen through the trees and solidly above them is a rich blue.
A lone jet contrail cloud by chance almost has the same angle as the tan steep slope below, and cuts behind some of the taller trees in the row.

A little pan video so you all can look around the big pumice meadow/plain a camped on one side of. I learned that night to maybe not pitch camp where the trees only have branches on one side of them. (STRONG WIND for hours) I did enjoy just strolling unhurried around the area from camp though. 😊

It's been difficult to hold back until #WaterfallWednesday, but here we are! Cottonwood Falls, Mount Thielsen, #Oregon. The spring that feeds the falls only pops out of the ground about 50 yards upstream! 🤩 I'd been planning and dreaming of visiting this spot for YEARS. #Hiking #Nature

A jagged black silhouette juts up from the bottom of this photograph, lower at a mountain pass at lower right, to the peak with two tops just left of center, and downward after a hump to the peaks left. The left side is not so low as the right side.
This silhouette is off an entire mountain, with the sky behind it filled with all manner of stars. Especially just up from the mountain's peak where dense brighter clouds of stars, and darker cloudy shapes of opaque dust block starlight, all rising almost straight up from the mountain to the top center of the image. This is a part of the Milky Way we live inside.

A photo of a tall rugged mountain, it's peak to the upper right with many jagged prominences and cliffs. From the peak area and to the left a ridge descends to a broad "U" shaped pass before ascending again to a lower peak that gently descends off frame to the left. The U shaped pass has many layers in the exposed cliff below it, of red and grey.
Below the cliff faces all along the mountain are steeply sloped fields of debris from the riding cliffs above, in pale grey, dusky grey, and pale red. These deposits run down to a valley floor below with gently rolling high areas covered in tan late season tough alpine grasses. A very few small conifer trees dot this valley floor, while to the left side much larger mature green trees populate an slight upward slope. In the foreground a tan slope of small exposed stone descends from lower middle right to the left bottom corner. A few small trees ride from it's top edge on the right, to much taller green trees that are partially shaded on the far left.
The sky above is a rich blue with several white jet contrails crossing behind the mountain.

Leavitt Falls on Leavitt Creek in California on the east side of the Sierra along Hwy 108. the terrain is very steep and heavily forested. the creek starts off the SE slope of Leavitt Peak from Leavitt Lake then empties into the West Walker River down in Leavitt Meadows. the West Walker merges with the East Walker in Nevada to become the Walker River which empties into the terminal Walker Lake.
so this creek begins from a lake and ends up in another one, never reaching the sea.

A large wind bent tree leaning over a rocky trail from far left. It's branches have a thick growth of green needles, and it's bark is a dark charcoal brown with a rough texture. The trail starts at lower right and climbs upward under the outstretched trees limbs, and continues as it winds out of sight near middle right.
The landscape is sparse of plants, dominated on the ground by various sizes of stones in colors from dull pale red, and light grey. Other areas of the ground are covered by old fallen dull orange pine needles. Among the stones are large grey gnarled logs from long gone trees.
The sky above the tree and trail is a fairly even medium tone grey of thick cloud.

The blue sky again, and the forest and it's green and standing grey dead conifer trees. In the distance, a high mountain flank rises with great stony cliffs and white banks of snow fields along it's high altitude. Only a sliver of the higher snowy reaches of the mountain is visible above the left flank of another closer mountain. The closer mountain lacks any snow or ice, so is not as lofty as the more distant mountain. The nearer mountain has trees most of the way up it's sides, except near the summit where some grey cliffs, and many red outcrops of volcanic stone are exposed. All of this is reflected in the water.
In the foreground of the lake, light rays from behind illuminate narrow bands of the shallow nearby lake bottom in dull brown/green, with a few stones and some submerged sticks visible.
One lone small stone pokes it's light tan tip out of the lake in the sunshine at center bottom left.

Around the bottom side of the nose cone from the gold antenna is a single bubble that may be a viewing port from the interior.
Behind the nose cone the cylindrical rocket body has a large conical section sticking out from it and pointed downward, some red accents are painted around it's attachment area in a ring, and two red rings cutting up around the cylinder.
Behind that is a set of evenly spaced struts all mounted to the rocket that attach to a support ring for seven white cylindrical blank white tanks.
