SCOTUS has rejected the GOP's appeal in Missouri. So it's official: the GOP gerrymander in Missouri will NOT be used this November. This virtually guarantees Rep. Emanuel Cleaver's seat, which the GOP tried to draw away, will stay in Democratic. What WILL be on the ballot is the veto referendum.

"Doctors, lawyers and engineers" is an international online Nazi trope. The "joke" is that non-White people are too stupid to be anything other than a criminal or someone who leeches social services. Read a Spanish newspaper about Ceuta, e.g., and you'll see "médicos y ingenieros" in the comments.

The Trump admin had a real theory of war: Put on a show of toughness, tell people how manly you are, disdain law, do war crimes, and you win. Earlier losses came from leaders too "weak" to do that. It was a very stupid theory. But they espoused it a lot, really seem to believe it, and acted on it.

This is the most recent letter from hunger/labor striking prisoners at Delaney Hall ICE facility in Newark, NJ. "We appreciate the support of everyone who is protesting outside the facility. We want you to know that you give us the strength and determination to keep going. Please, DON’T GIVE UP!"
Translation from Spanish to English: We, the detainees at the Delaney Hall Detention Facility, wish to express our objection to the violation of our rights as immigrant human beings. We, the detainees, are demanding our progressive release, based on the fact that our arrests were illegal; immigrants to this country have the right to await our pending immigration proceedings outside of prison; therefore, we demand to be released on bond or parole so that we may complete our proceedings.

Furthermore, we call for greater efficiency in our judicial processes, as well as greater effectiveness and urgency for those who request and sign their voluntary release; we believe it is unjust to keep people who wish to leave of their own free will in custody for up to three months.

In addition to the unlawful and forced detention of most of us who find ourselves locked up here, there is the inhumane treatment that all detainees in this facility endure on a daily basis. The company in charge (GEO) fails to meet the basic conditions necessary to protect our health and our lives. To their administrative incompetence, we must add the following injustices and irregularities perpetrated by ICE and GEO:

Food containing worms or in a state of decay.

Unresolved issues, particularly regarding the bathrooms, which are in terrible and inhumane condition.

Ventilation problems.Translation from spanish to english: Serious health issues: most people have a persistent flu with phlegm that won’t go away; many have conjunctivitis, urinary tract infections, fever, and coughs.

Medical care issues:

If you're sick, you have to submit a request that takes two weeks to be answered—or you never get a response at all.

Nurses refuse to treat you right away

They only prescribe Tylenol for all ailments

The nurses' exact words: "We're not a PHARMACY"

ICE agents coerce detainees into signing deportation orders

There is no emergency protocol: in cases of falls or attacks, emergency response arrives an hour late

Judges’ rulings are highly questionable; most bond requests are denied without legal basis

Detainees are forced to work, in most cases without pay, or for $1 an hour

We appreciate the support of everyone who is protesting outside the facility. We want you to know that you give us the strength and determination to keep going. Please, DON’T GIVE UP!

We ask all relevant authorities for an urgent response and look forward to hearing from them. With the utmost respect, the detainees at the Delaney Hall facility.

God bless you!

🧵 DHS/Kristi Noem responded to Rep. Paul Gosar's letter and questions about the proposed concentration camp in Surprise. Incredibly disturbing that DHS describes this industrial warehouse in the desert as "humane" and overall there's not *much* new information but I'll highlight some answers below.
February 18, 2026

Representative Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S
U.S. House of Representatives
Washington, DC 20515

Dear Representative Gosar:

Thank you for your February 4, 2026 letter to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) about a new U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center in Arizona.

ICE is reengineering its detention structure and acquisition strategy to meet the growing demand for bedspace and to streamline the detention and removal process.

ICE is committed to safe, secure, and humane environments for all those in its custody, no matter what type of facility in which they are housed. All detention centers are required to abide by ICE national detention standards, relevant regulations, or other requirements. Delivered facilities will be safe, energy-efficient, and compliant with all relevant federal, state, and local laws.
Under the previous administration, millions of illegal aliens were released or escaped into the interior, with Arizona on the frontlines of this crisis. These facilities will enhance ICE's ability to arrest, detain, and remove illegal aliens.

Please see the enclosure for responses to your individual questions. Thank you again for your letter and interest in this matter. Should you wish to discuss this matter further, please contact the DHS Office of Legislative Affairs at (202) 447-5890.

Sincerely,
Kristi Noem
Secretary of Homeland Security

We don't need 100% of America to be angered and activated by this, anywhere around 3 to 5% would be enough. Think we can find roughly 10 million people or more to get pissed off over this?
Fortune article headline: Scott Bessent has 'got a feeling' that $175 billion raised under the IEEPA is lost to the American people for goodApproximately 47.9 million people in the U.S. lived in food-insecure households in 2024, representing about 1 in 7 households (13.7%) struggling to afford adequate food.
