The custom popcorn bucket is so disturbing truly could not ask for a better fake movie after my own heart (even tho I’m so annoyed the roll of the dice only gave me actors & not one actress I‘d really enjoy)
The popcorn bucket
Collectible bucket moulded as a barnacled drowned soldier, mid-breach, mouth open toward the sky. Lift the hinged chestplate and reach down through the cavity - the popcorn sits where the lungs were. His helmet is the lid. Holds 130 ounces.

Got my first billion dollar movie and it’s *drumroll* high fantasy animation with a plot revolving around the sea and the dead that should appeal to no one but myself and yet!!
Tagline: The sea gives back. You have to answer.

Movie title: THE DROWNED BELL

For one night each century the sea returns everyone it has taken, and only the cracked bell of Saltmere keeps the drowned army asleep. When the empire melts that bell for cannon, a gravekeeper, voiced by Hugh Jackman, holds the shore with a handbell and a grudge, while a memory-tithe collector, voiced by Matt Damon, arrives to harvest the town's dead. A bargain from the smallest drowned god, voiced by Mark Hamill, and an old ferryman, voiced by Kurt Russell, sail them into the black water.

Insults bradley cooper in the review, truly the machine has learnt what I personally want
RAVEN BRIDE
The forest at the kingdom's edge eats brides.
When another girl vanishes before her wedding. a disgraced friar, Victor Banerjee, collects the village's confessions and finds the same wolf inside every one. A grandmother, Michelle Yeoh, knows the beast by his name: a soldier, Bradley Cooper, who returned from the crusades wrong, hungry for something darker than flesh. Above them all, a blind king, Donald Sutherland, keeps his wedding gown and waits. Not every monster was made by wolves.

Giggling maniacally
Second Term

A White House press secretary, Tom Hanks, has one weekend to spin the impossible: the President, Christopher Walken, died on the operating table and came back grinning, hungry, and more popular than ever. The Speaker of the House, Tommy Lee Jones, moves to invoke the Twenty-Fifth Amendment before the thing debates him live on national television. The retiring White House physician, Christopher Lee, confirms the quiet family secret: this has happened before - in 1841, 1923, and once under a very tall Man

a very decent chance we get the Voynich manuscript solved in the next year or so, if not sooner. AI is also an excellent paleographic tool; we're going to have a whole bunch of archives searchable and better deciphered in the next few years.

I used to be a snob about this but I’ve come around to this: reading anything for an hour is better than instagram or tiktok Nora Roberts, Percy Jackson, Uncle John’s Bathroom reader etc etc just pick it up bc it’s a big issue that no adult is reading newspapers/magazines in waiting rooms anymore

BC will likely hv a con govt soon enough & that will be the decision of your fellow voters I’m also bullish on battery tech, cheap solar and EVs winning the climate over the medium term so long as we get our shit together fast enough to push for it. Demand the approval of green energy projects too

You can argue against the validity of any of these points sure but let’s not pretend this deal is happening purely for financial reasons. I hate this!! But I also know the environmentalists hv lost the court of public opinion & need to refocus/regroup

The pipeline is going to happen bc (a) Canadians don’t care about climate in any meaningful way (b) kneecapping US funded separatism (c) reducing reliance on the US for (one of) our major export (d) shipping dirty oil to Asia would likely reduce their use of dirtier coal (e) we need money+jobs fast

The underlying issue is that the bjp was elected in 2014 and they are outrageously bad at outreach towards any group but the in-group. This is the same group of politicians who put einstein solved e=mc2 from copying the bhagavad gita into textbooks, they suck at not looking dumb

I would bet “I had kids and regret it” is, relative to how many people’s actions show they hold it and it how often it’s espoused, probably the most common unvoiced opinion in the world. I’m not saying the taboo is bad! Not all taboos are bad, pretty clear positive reason for that one.

Apparently Bernie--who supposedly sees Abdul as his progressive heir apparent on M4A--hasn't given a dime of his $23 million war chest to help. 👀
El-Sayed was vastly outspent during a contentious Democratic primary. However, he emerged victorious after prominent progressives, including Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), campaigned with him.

After his victory, progressive allies pledged to support El-Sayed in the general election, casting the race as a test of whether their brand of economic populism can win in a swing state.
"I'm going to do my best in every way to see that he's elected to the U.S. Senate," Sanders told Semafor last month. "We're going to do everything we can."
Between the lines: Sanders, who has $23 million in his campaign account, has not transferred money to El-Sayed's campaign.

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have discovered a new antibiotic, known as manikomycin, that may be a bulwark in the fight against drug-resistant superbugs. By attacking the ribosome in a never-before-seen way, manikomycin can evade the existing mechanisms pathogens have developed to resist antibiotics.

It's great to see tailoring accommodate such extreme movement today. This level of tailoring was a bit more common in the past, as you can see in old films featuring Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly, but many modern suits will lift off the wearer's neck even when they're just walking.
