NASA does a disservice here by excluding the acres and acres of non-road pavement that truly exacerbate this problem — surface parking lots. Zoom into the hottest parts of this map and you’ll see plenty of parking. We’re probably not gonna get rid of roads, but we can stop mandating parking lots.

Did you know Arizona has the second highest HOA fees in the nation averaging $448 per month? Forcing homebuyers into HOAs drives up costs dramatically. The Arizona Starter Homes Act addresses that by preventing regulations that make expensive HOAs effectively mandatory.
