Three cheers to Flagstaff for––as of a few minutes ago––becoming the first city in Arizona (and maybe the entire southwest?) to legalize fourplexes on every residential lot citywide. And congrats to Flagstaff for Affordable Housing & @azneighborhood.bsky.social for leading the charge!

"City planners pointed to other major cities in the United States that have abolished parking minimums, like Austin and Minneapolis. They found that those changes led to reduced development costs, more housing units and improved walkability and transit options..." denverite.com/2025/08/05/d...

While homeowners may be shielded from the immediate impacts of the housing crisis, rents remain painfully HIGH for far too many, in spite the slowdown in recent increases. Just to say it plainly: Housing needs to be a TOP priority. azcentral.com/story/news/l...

Civil legal aid is a lifeline for seniors, veterans, domestic violence survivors, and working people. You never know when you might need legal help and everyone deserves access to justice. We NEED this funding in the state budget! www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/trump-a...

I don't understand how progressives consistently vote to uphold Modern-day Jim Crow in the name of "local control". Our built environment will remain inequitable unless we reform exclusionary zoning. azmirror.com/2025/04/25/t...

Another stark reminder of the need for land-use reform. Exclusionary zoning makes it impossible to build the affordable housing we need. Sad to see an affordable housing developer sell a site that could've housed our low-income community members azcentral.com/story/news/l... via @azcentral.com

Great to meet Kymberly, an LD 24 resident and Habitat for Humanity homeowner. Large lot size requirements in cities can be a huge barrier to nonprofit developers like Habitat. I’ll keep fighting for bills like the Starter Homes Act so more people like Kymberly can achieve homeownership.

"Nowhere in the country have rents declined as much as they have in Austin — now 22% off the peak reached in August 2023, according to Redfin. The median asking rent is $1,399 per month, down $400 in less than three years" #YIMBYworks
