Deputy Councilor for Urban Affairs, D13 @williamhazen.bsky.social · 5hI’ll never survive a Week w/o Driving, because driving a bus is my job, so I took the car out today to solve this accessibility issue near Michigan and Gale, where gravel, soil, trash, and invasive honeysuckle had overtaken the sidewalk. Hopefully this makes someone else’s car free life easier. 2626

Deputy Councilor for Urban Affairs, D13 @williamhazen.bsky.social · 29/09/2026The recent Consumer Reports Transit Ranking is telling and I think stands as a fairly accurate ranking of transit in different cities. The common thread among many of the worst performers is extremely sprawled cities in Republican controlled states. 4112

Inspired by Madison’s 1986 history ‘The Indiana Way’, Madison relies on the scholarship of the last 30 years to add more perspectives from queer people and people of color for a more complete history. 0100

Deputy Councilor for Urban Affairs, D13 @williamhazen.bsky.social · 24/09/2026So I’m a little confused. In 1926, Indianapolis built its new airport, the Mars Hill Airport, on a streetcar line. Between 1927-1931, the airport served as Indy’s primary passenger airport until Indianapolis Municipal/ Weir Cook Airport (Now Indianapolis International) was built in 1931. 170

Deputy Councilor for Urban Affairs, D13 @williamhazen.bsky.social · 19/09/2026The 2025 INDOT Public Transit Annual Report is here, and it’s a bleak one. Every single category posted ridership declines except ‘Commuter Rail’ (just NICTD). There were some bright spots in Group 2 however; Anderson and CIRTA (pictured) both grew by over 50%, Terre Haute almost doubled ridership. 291
