It’s an easy walk from the apartment I lived in in ‘85-‘86; I shopped at the Safeway there, bought caramel corn there. Spent wonderful times with my father there in the 70s. Malls are an expiring form but this one takes something with it when it goes.

My favorite ludicrous New Yorker style is that they print initialisms in full caps but acronyms (initialisms pronounced as words) in small caps, so in the days of CD-ROMs, they'd write the word like this:

CD in full caps followed by hyphen-ROM in small caps.

We've just been having a look through a sweetly presented digital version of the Jurassic Park novel for the Apple Mac released in 1991. In the preface, Michael Crichton talks about how enthusiastic he is for the format and how it allows him to add sound effects and animations.
