Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...
A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is. Phil, a balding Caucasian man, poses a model of the garthok, an antagonist from the Coneheads movie.Phil, a balding caucasian man, points at some CG on a CRT computer monitor, as a younger man looks on. The screen shows a model of a dinosaur attacking a jeep, while there's an actual physical model of that event in the foreground for reference.an isolated shot of a star wars vehicle. Sorry, I don't know star wars lol

"In the 90s, this is how you'll write code."
In the 90s, this is how you'll write code.

In the 1990s, code will be generated by the click of a mouse or a tap of a key. With Matrix Layout 2.0 you can do that now. And the results will surprise you.

Preview the 1990s with Layout.
In Layout, you create programs by designing an object-oriented flowchart, with all the options of traditional programming. It’s a
technology we call desktop programming. Once you’re done, simply choose the language you want for the finished program.
There’s Microsoft C, Lattice C, and Turbo C, as well as Turbo Pascal and Microsoft QuickBasic. You can even create a EXE file that’s ready-to-run on any IBM PC or compatible.

1990s Power without 1980s Pain.
Because Layout works with today’s stan dards, you can painlessly take advantage of the power behind Layout — object oriented programming, CASE (Computer Aided Software Engineering) technology, hypertext databases, and graphical user interfaces. All
without giving up your favorite computer language.

An Architecture for the 1990s.
Layout comes with objects that produce real code for everything traditional computer languages can do — math, branching, variable
management, complex data structures — and it extends each language to include powerful user interface and hypertext database capabilities. But best of all, you can extend Layout past the 1990s by building your own objects — BlackBoxes — that can do anything you imagine. Added together, Layout cuts your development time by up to 70%.

Welcome to the 1990s.
Ready to jump into the 90s? Get Layout today. It’s available for just $199.95. Or for a glimpse of the 90s, see the Layout video tape
for just $9.95. Give us a call at 1-800-533-5644

In Massachusetts call (617) 567-0037.

A fun thing to do is to ask people what is "Flohwalzer" called in their language. Because you get stuff like "Flea waltz", "I stepped on a cat", and "meatballs jumping over a fence". 😄🎶

A new tactical combat game for #msdos has been released! #StarCadre Team Command puts you in charge of a squad of elite operatives in the far future, conducting special missions on behalf of an interstellar civilisation. Get it from cyningstan.itch.io/star-cadre-t... #ibmpc #cga
A collage of screenshots of Star Cadre: Team Command against a background image. The background images shows the K-53 modified fighter craft in the foreground, that takes the away team on their missions, on a landing pad beside its hangar, with planting around, a city scape behind, mountains in the far distance. The screenshots are all in 4-colour CGA. They include: the title screen which is a 4-colour version of the background image, a mission taking place in an industrial complex, and the personnel screen where a new recruit is being added to the team.

I am still so baffled by that official "Manic Miner" remake. Like, it isn't 1983 anymore. Anyone can knock out a Manic Miner clone over a course of a weekend. At this point it literally feels like an exercise in putting as little effort as possible, because otherwise it doesn't make sense.

I was afraid to click on this thanks to the recent officially endorsed "Manic Miner" remake debacle, but thankfully the materials in this set turned out to be completely AI-free.
Use of ai:
Pixel Jockey understand the difference that ai is making in the modern world, but we choose not to use it in any way on our products and campaigns. We draw every picture, layout every bit of artwork, edit every video and write every word. Our products are proudly made by a human.
