Revisiting my Untitled Medieval Fighter project. Got my screen target in a good spot, now I'm gonna start doing some animation work to bring the thing to life.

A UI Mock of a Warhammer 40k ARPG Item Screen, featuring a Artificer-forged Bolter named Extant Rot. The UI is referencing utilitarian UI patterns from mid 80s computing, with the weapon itself being rendered in a less saturated series of bitmap patterns.

Three Tarot cards are pictured. From left to right, The Empress, The Fool, and Death. All are are illustrated in a black and white dither effect, reminiscent of old computer graphics.

The Empress features a nude, pregnant, three-eyed figure turning to look at the viewer over her shoulder. In her hand is a bow, on her shoulder a raven, and behind her a swirling assemblage of stars resembling a galaxy.

The Fool card depicts a figure atop a mount of bodies offering up or recieving a glowing sword to a giant three-eyed serpent descending from the sky.

Death shows a three-eyed figure approaching the viewer from shadow with a pistol in its hand. The only thing visible from waist up are its 3 glowing eyes emerging from the dark. On its shoulder is a crow. The background features an eclipse, creating lens flares that act as halos for the figure of Death and the Raven.

A card game box for Moonrakers. Is features 5 ships flying through space, with space stylized as a dark purple, rather than black. Each ship has a uniquely colored thruster trail (purple, orange, yellow, green, and red). Surrounding the box are cards from the Moonrakers game.

This feels like a good start (they don't always). Bringing back the projection device from some of the other cards as the whiny Four of Cups man laments what he doesn't have instead of appreciating what he does. A literal world sits behind him.

Finally got around to testing out the use of a custom halftone effect in Illustrator to create a PS1 aesthetic. Original screenshot in the upper left, recreation upper right. Lower left, paths highlighted, lower right is Outline View. Pretty successful for a couple hours of tinkering.

Finished up the Eight of Wands a few days ago and started the Queen of Cups tonight. The water is half the frame and she is half submerged, showing her balance of the conscious mind and emotions (water). She cradles a water skin, as I chose to interpret "Cups" more broadly as water vessels.
