i really can’t bring myself to care about AI anthropomorphism debates. “is AI thinking?” i don’t know. is a calculator calculating? questions for the philosophers. what’s important is that we put sam altman in prison.

In 2018, Annalinda Martinez and her daughters became homeless. She went to Georgia's child welfare agency looking for help finding housing. Instead, the state took her children. Then DFCS began charging her for their foster care. Those bills eventually left her $13,000 in debt.

Georgia removed her kids because she was homeless. The state is charging her $13,000 for foster care
Georgia is among several states that have moved away from charging parents for their kids' time in foster care. But parents who already owe money for past cases are still on the hook.

They served their time in prison. Then the bills arrived.
Hundreds of CT residents have had money seized through a law that allows the state to charge a fee for every day a person spends in prison.

Israel annihilated *all* of their schools and universities, but the folks over at Jerusalem Post wanna know: hey, are those kids being taught to hate us? Your brain on Zionism. You can exterminate at least 20,000 children in 3 years and still see yourself as the f-ing victim.

I saw some advice on Facebook to go to the Google Maps app, and report "Lake America" is incorrectly labeled. For those of us who cannot use cell phones or apps, here's how you can do it on your computer.
A view of reporting the issue and Google maps. On the left side you can see Lake Ontario and parts of southern Ontario, Canada and northern New York. On the right side is a report and issue form. The first question is, when you notice the issue what were you trying to do? This is required. The drop-down selected is Fixed incorrect information on Maps. The fill-in box below has a question that says describe your issue, which is also required. In the box is written: "Lake America is not real. The real name is Lake Oniatarí:io. You should get it right instead of supporting [a] convicted rapist. Otherwise I think Google might be controlled by people involved in the Epstein files.

A cool thing about our organizing in DC to fight the occupation & get autonomy with statehood is that youth are central to the movement. Middle & high schoolers. Their voices are very treasured. They're given roles to speak up & be part of things, they're personally invested even being young.

Straightforward fascist ideology running throughout, as illustrated by this passage
It’s not a coincidence that when you look at these violent antifa demonstrations and you see any photograph of those who were assembled – to be blunt, not one of the people that is demonstrating looks like a normal person. Not one looks normal. They’re all deformed in some way – in their appearance, in their dress, in their mannerism. Why is that? Why? If you look at two photographs and you see a normal American in the street and you see an Antifa protest, why do the people that are violently demonstrating – why is there not one normal-looking person among them? Every one of them, through the course of their life and their decisions, has scarred their body and their appearance in many different ways, to the point in which their outer appearance becomes a manifestation of their inner hatred.

Trust your instincts to all people and across all civilizations. You know what normal is. You know what beautiful is. You know what good is. You know that families are right. You know that children are precious and beautiful and must be protected. You know that the criminal and the junkie and the predator is a threat to normal, healthy living. This so much deeper than issues about taxation and regulation, although they’re incredibly important. It’s about normal, healthy, ordered living.

i cannot implore you enough to use respiratory protection that *really works* for what you’re facing. yes, the best mask is the mask you’ll wear, but when conditions are this bad, know that not all tools are created equal. if you can access something better and are able to wear it, it’s worth it.

I’m interested in any political imagination for accountability. It has to be proactive & retroactive. It has to be spectacular. And, ideally, it would leave so many of them broke that it actually becomes a deterrent. Being poor is truly all they care about not because they don’t care about prison.

I was looking through old photos and found this Accidental Renaissance Painting of the cats
Three different colored cats are hanging around an armchair. their poses are reminiscent of the dramatic, sometimes contorted postures in classical art, but especially attributed to paintings from the Renaissance where these postures convey drama and movement. An orange cat is crouching beneath the chair, his head thrown back dramatically into shadow. Above, on the seat of the chair, a brown striped tabby cat reaches his paw down towards the orange cat, peering at him. Also on the seat but sat stoically on his haunches is a white and brown tabby, gazing away over his two brothers, tail draped down over the side of the chair. The composition of their poses is circular and draws the eye around, and suggests some sort of mythic art as was popular in the Renaissance as well.
