rotating an idea that halo is the defining media franchise of the 21st century. i look at how its been mismanaged for 20 years, no one working on it has a job, its games don't even sell anymore but. they cant let it die. the IP must continue. everything becomes halo on a long enough timeline

the defining games story of the last decade is when the dead cells team got a bunch of positive press for being a workers co-op but then the game was a huge hit and so they made a private company for all the new employees to scale up into while the “co-op” remained about ten people large lol

one big tension in game dev and media spaces as the economy happens to all of us is that even most well intentioned discussion and advice takes the capitalist perspective by default, which is not actually helpful to all the displaced and desperate workers

At Mexico City’s Palacio de Bellas Artes, Mike Patton brought out local institution Mariachi Gama 1000 for a Mr. Bungle song and sang in Spanish with them on a cover of Juan Gabriel’s “Hasta Que Te Conocí.” The late Mexican pop icon gave a series of famous concerts at the venue in 1990.
