It’s Nighthawk season! TONIGHT will be my first time as Leader at Mount Auburn Cemetery 's Nighthawk Watch annual events. I’ve had a great time for years watching for Nighthawks in the cemetery. It is with great pride that I take on spotting & counting birds for this unique tradition! #birding 🪶🌃

I heard some commotion in my backyard and discovered the source: a juvenile #BroadWingedHawk had arrived! Felt like a larger hawk; guessing a young female, newly independent and hunting on her own. In just a few weeks, she’ll be taking flight for S. America on a wild migratory journey! 😎🪶🦅 #birding

Being a raptor enthusiast means occasionally stumbling upon a grim scene; and this one was an all-timer. Driving through upstate NY on a recent road trip, came across this #BaldEagle in a farm field. When they departed, they took the remains of a white-tailed deer fawn with them! #birding 🦅🪶🦌
