I’m working on a new color chart of basic mixes for my current watercolor palette. First row done! (7 of 21). The greens are getting really nice.

Several sheets of paper with color charts are shown alongside watercolor paints. Each chart shows color mixes with the other colors in the palette.

witches 🌸💜 (drawn by a trans woman, if you wanna support an other world of witches & wizards than a certain one)

Colored piece, drawing of a woman in modern clothes, jean shorts,t shirt, barefoot, with a crown of thorns on her head, wielding magic, giant flowers with an eye at their center in the dark background

Color piece, drawing of a witch floating in the night sky, surrounded by glowing purple/pink swords she just summoned, a real giant rapier hovering next to her, her long curly hair almost wrapped around its blade
She has roses and thorns tattooed on her right upper arm, glowing magical patterns on the left one, a white tank top, skirt, tight with floral patterns, no shoes, and a fierce expression on her face
Pink moon and purple clouds in the background

color piece, drawing of a young, curvy witch sitting on the floor on a glowing green pentagram or magic sygil of some sort, she's surrounded by plants and flowers and darkness, and skulls with their ribcage and spines are floating next to her, a green flame on their forehead
the witch wears a pink/orange/salmon crop top, a transparent fluid skirt with plant patterns on it, glasses, necklaces and earrings
her hair is tied in a loose bun
she has flowers and eyes tattooed on both shoulders/arms, also more plants on her left upper thigh and hip

Drawing of me as a witch floating in the night sky, wielding necromancer magic, holding a skull, wearing a witch hat, spiderweb pattern tights, a jean jacket, fishnet top, big goth shoes

this field biologist does a great job highlighting the insidiousness of AI editing these one-click AI edit buttons are incredibly appealing to many photographers, amateurs and professionals alike, and are framed as innocuous this is worth sharing and educating people about

screenshot of a post on facebook from Alex Lamoreaux, depicting two versions of the "same" photograph of a bobcat in front of a pine plantation, one labeled original game cam photo, one labeling AI processed

the markings have been altered on the AI photo, and the head changed and resized

text says:

Oh! A neat goose hybrid posted to ‘What’s this Bird?’ but when you zoom in on the photos the bill details have been too manipulated by AI photo editing to be accurately assessed for which species may be involved.
Scroll on… A cool-looking Red-tailed Hawk that someone is wondering which subspecies it might be - right up my alley! But when you zoom in on the photos literally every feather group has been so heavily manipulated and altered by AI editing that it’s impossible to determine subspecies because the photo is essentially fake now; just a mashup of whatever AI thinks parts of a Red-tail should look like.
Scroll on… WOW! That’s a remarkable trail cam photo of a Bobcat! It almost looks like a painting!… but the head looks oddly small…. hmmmm. After some prodding the original photo is produced and sure enough it had been so heavily altered by AI ‘post processing’ that the photo posted was essentially a digital mock-up with totally different proportions and fur markings. No longer the photo off the trail cam; it may as well have just been ‘created’ by AI from scratch.
This stuff is killing me. My days on social media are becoming very limited. We can’t even trust simple, everyday photos of animals to be real. The wildlife community needs to quit editing with AI, and we need to start calling out photographers that are using it. Our reality is being destroyed all around us.

“I want you to understand what it is like to live in Chicago during this time.” aphyr.com/posts/397-i-...

I want you to understand what it is like to live in Chicago during this time.

Every day my phone buzzes. It is a neighborhood group: four people were kidnapped at the corner drugstore. A friend a mile away sends a Slack message: she was at the scene when masked men assaulted and abducted two people on the street. A plumber working on my pipes is distraught, and I find out that two of his employees were kidnapped that morning. A week later it happens again.

An email arrives. Agents with guns have chased a teacher into the school where she works. They did not have a warrant. They dragged her away, ignoring her and her colleagues’ pleas to show proof of her documentation. That evening I stand a few feet from the parents of Rayito de Sol and listen to them describe, with anguish, how good Ms. Diana was to their children. What it is like to have strangers with guns traumatize your kids. For a teacher to hide a three-year-old child for fear they might be killed. How their relatives will no longer leave the house. I hear the pain and fury in their voices, and I wonder who will be next.

Understand what it is to pray in Chicago.

We've created a tracker that covers all executive orders affecting LGBTQ folks along with federal and state legislation. We're at 334 anti-LGBTQ bills. docs.google.com/spreadsheets... Credit @alli.gay @erininthemorning.com @evanurquhart.bsky.social @miralazine.bsky.social @lizsaila.bsky.social

A screenshot of a multi‐column table listing several U.S. presidential Executive Orders relating to LGBTQ+ rights and antidiscrimination policies. Each row has columns for “Origin” (POTUS), “Number/Identifier” (e.g., EO 13988), “Title” (such as Preventing and Combating Discrimination…), “Action Type” (e.g., Broad Nondiscrimination, Military Nondiscrimination), “Summary” (key points of each order), and “Date Signed.” The listed orders span from early 2021 through early 2025, covering topics like preventing discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation, banning conversion therapy, rescinding prior harmful EOs, and restricting or expanding DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives.

A spreadsheet at the top shows columns tracking anti‐LGBTQ bills by status and year: total bills (334), 2025 bills (327), 2024 rollovers (7), how many passed committees (3), passed one chamber (5), passed both chambers (0), enacted (1), vetoed (0), failed (3), and carried forward (0). Below that, another header row lists different types of anti‐LGBTQ legislation (e.g., gender‐affirming care bans, pronoun bans, “Don’t Say Gay,” drag bans, bathroom bans) with the total count of each category (e.g., 55 for gender‐affirming care bans, 20 for pronoun bans, 14 for “Don’t Say Gay,” etc.). A color‐coded U.S. map spans the lower half, with states shaded from light orange to deep red according to how many anti‐LGBTQ bills they contain. Texas appears in the darkest red (46 bills), with lighter shades indicating fewer bills in other states. A note at the bottom right explains that the map shows total tracked bills per state, which does not necessarily reflect each bill’s likelihood of passage.
