The key to Trump's election fuckery is you absolutely take it seriously, & you take it seriously by knowing you've got the numbers behind you to follow through on your principles. This is the United States & the way we rule ourselves is not subject to the whims of an old orange shitsack.

Once again, Federal fascism is already here and people aren't "complying in advance," they are simply COMPLYING. Some people got mad when I said in late 2024 that most people are not brave which is why we need collective action. There's strength in numbers. Most people are not brave on their own.

it warms the cockles of my existential phenomenologist heart that this man sees so clearly what is at stake in this moment.
Tweet from Pope Leo XIV:

Intelligence must draw on memory. The mind must not simply compile data — as an algorithm now does more quickly than we can - but recall lived experiences, which contain depths of meaning that only the human soul can recognize, and connect more deeply with the goodness of these experiences. Everything that is good begins "with the Spirit" and thus possesses a breath, a dynamism and a sense of communion that, once experienced, are engraved upon the heart.

This guy seems like a real winner.
A lawyer nicknamed “the Courtroom Bulldog” in local media, Deters has faced his own legal issues. In 2020, he was banned from entering a courthouse in Ohio’s Hamilton County after threatening on social media to burn it down. The Kentucky Bar Association twice suspended him, citing aggressive litigation strategies, false statements in court proceedings and filing frivolous claims.

When the Kentucky Supreme Court was considering whether to reinstate him to the bar, Deters denounced members of the association as “jokes of human excrement.” The chief justice wrote in 2021, in a ruling not to reinstate him, “Deters’ practice of law is not governed by constitution, rule of law or procedure. It is anarchy.”

“These rules that are written by Big Law to hurt people like me—screw them,” Deters told the Journal, saying he retired as a lawyer. “I am a legal outlaw.”

One of the biggest myths is that men rape by mistake. Like, "Oh, they need consent training." But research is very clear: Sexual violence is not a mistake. It is an intentionally made decision by people who know they don't have consent. They just don't prioritize consent over things like status, power, domination, and sexual gratification.
For my research, I got a certificate of confidentiality from the National Institutes of Health, so my notes couldn't be subpoenaed. One of the reasons I call them perpetrators in my work is because every single person I interviewed confessed in that context. The first question I would ask them was, "When you received that email from Title IX that you were under investigation, did you know what it was about?" Every perpetrator I interviewed said "yes." If sexual assault were a miscommunication, you would be wondering, What have I possibly done wrong? That is not the way that any of them reacted because they knew.
