Photography from my 2027 Tube Mapper Calendar APR / NORTHFIELDS I was lucky enough to capture some photos of the beautiful interior of a vintage 1938 train during one of the London Transport Museum’s heritage runs. It feels more like a cosy front room than a train!

Classic Victoria Line A lovely nostalgic visit of a 1967 Victoria line train at the Transport Museum Depot in Acton. Queen Elizabeth II rode on this when the line opened to Victoria in March 1969. These trains remained in service until October 2010.

From Chiswick Park to China As I waited for my train, planes kept crossing the sky above the station tower. So, I waited for a British Airways flight to pass the Underground roundel. Perfectly matching the red, blue and white of the tube logo.

Did you know Bank/Monument Station has 16 entrances? It’s one of the most confusing stations on the London Underground, & with good reason I set out to find every single entrance and see just how far this Underground maze really goes. I counted 16 but I think there may be more?

It’s funny how films age. I’ve just been watching Johnny Mnemonic, where 320GB of data is portrayed as an almost impossibly huge amount that overloads the human brain. Back in the 90s, that figure seemed enormous. Now our phones and cameras can handle this easily.

There’s something beautiful about the way architecture creates a frame of its own. At Stoke Newington, the darkness of the tunnel surrounds the London Overground train, leaving only two bright headlights, like a pair of happy eyes announcing its arrival.

Mesmerised by Light Travelling through the London Underground, I found myself mesmerised by the flickering lights and passing reflections. For a moment, the carriage transformed into a natural disco, dancing right before my eyes. No extra tickets required, just please keep your feet off the seats.

PLEASE STAND ON THE RIGHT! I had a lot of fun recreating this old 1944 poster by Fougasse. I needed Charles Holden architecture with uplighters, so Northern line towards Morden. Geoff Marshall is the 'learner' with a trilby hat & Colliers Wood best matched Kenneth Bird's poster!
