Getting real tired of words like 'disorder' and 'diagnosis'. If we're #actuallyautistic, shouldn't we be choosing our own language to describe our experience instead of using inaccurate NT language? 'Assessed' or 'Identified' works way better than 'diagnosed'.

Beyond just being incorrect, one of the most fucked up things about antivaxxers saying vaccines cause autism is how often they act like autism is this horrible nightmare when the most common biological link for kids having autism is a parent with autism. They’re doing fine! They have sex!

Trauma recovery is about building up our resources & resilience (ugh, that word) in little, realistic ways, day by day, week by week. The days & weeks won't be perfect, emotionally or behaviorally, but that's not the goal-- the goal is consistently doing just a little better.

A year ago today I finally got my Autism diagnosis I thought it would make things a lot better for me, but if anything I’m worse now than I was I’m incredibly grateful to have a diagnosis, it’s a huge privilege, but there needs to be post diagnostic support, we shouldn’t be left to struggle
