This is precisely what I've been thinking. How on earth is anyone even remotely surprised? To me the only surprising thing is Anyone gives a shit about it. When I was in college in 80s it was a given if you went to a frat party you'd get raped. Which is why none of my friends ever went to one

Why I love having an autistic therapist. Me: and I started watching ER months ago and I don't even know why I'm still watching it but there are 15 seasons and I have to finish it. Because...I do. Him: Yes.. It's the law. Us: hysterical laughter. Scene.

Just finished edit of manuscript of my lyric researched memoir about being diagnosed autistic at 57. Managed to do this in 10 days and cut 11,700 word thanks to monotropism. Now I just want to cry. Don't let anyone ever tell you writing isn't labor. Emotional, intellectual, spiritual and physical.

Really value this vote of confidence from Emma Goldman-Sherman and her willingness to let me share it. Especially when revising an endless 7 year in the making memoir in progress, it's nice to know my humble little Substack is speaking to folks.
A block of magenta with quote from Emma Goldman-Sherman about my substack that reads "Julia ks a brilliant thinker and essayist and writer of many genres..I value her work, and I recommend her wirk to everyone, neurodivergent or not."
