Yes! And there are so many great contemporary writers for reading aloud. Katherine Rundell, Malorie Blackman, Philip Pullman... My children returned the favour by giving me a list of 5 books to read before I was 50, and 5 more before I was 55. The Hate You GIve was a standout.

All these people popping up saying we can't rejoin the EU without a referendum. My absolute wet dream would be winning by 50.001% vs 49.999% and Andy Burnham saying There you go, will of the people, overwhelming, gimme the Euro, gimme Schengen, take that Losers, the experts have spoken.

All the talk of Farage's reaction to Burnham's speech should not take away from the fact that all the talk after Farage's conference speech was how he'd been filmed breaking the law grifting foreign money from rich donors . This is the real difference in our politics.

As a former hotelier, we get charged 15-20% by the booking engines. We always gave better prices to people that booked direct for exactly that reason. Exp*dia are actually worse to deal with than B.C if you can believe that. Between them, they own all the major booking platforms aside from airBnB

will say it again: the most effective way to curb far right agitators like Lowe, "Tommo" et. al. would be to stop their ability to earn money for it from social media or live streaming. So much of it is grifting for revenue, not attention.

These are all valid points. It's not racist or fascist to say we should control the border. These people are fleeing terrible danger and we owe it to them to make their escape route as safe as possible.

I would love to ask a prominent BBC journalist to give me an example of an illegitimate concern. Is seems to me that it has become a question not of fact, logic, or ethics but of volume. If a big enough proportion of a village was anxious about Bigfoot or Chemtrails, BBC would cover it in a way...

Nothing like enough attention has been paid to the massive, massive tax rebate young, working families have been given through free nursery provision. It amounts to hundreds of pounds a month to people who spend nearly all they get. Probably why we're still growing in spite of everything.

The state of this headline! The story is nothing to do with migrants or the Pakistan U19 cricket team. It's a story about racists who saw brown faces and formed a vigilante mob. The headline should reflect the racism. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
