Advance #abpoli voting didn't take *too* long. About 20 minutes? Curiosity: unlike the federal paper ballots these ones did not include duplicate audit numbers on the actual ballots. Thus you cannot answer the question, "did this polling place issue this ballot to a voter?" at all (unlike […]

I pulled the daily pypistats numbers. The jump starts on Monday Aug 31, and the extra downloads are all Linux and Python 3.14. spake2 and txtorcon jumped by the same amount that day, while the mailbox server package stayed flat. My guess is a CI pipeline that started installing the client.

Hrmm, looks like #magicWormhole had a big jump in downloads last month: pypistats.org/packages/magic-wormho… I don't have a good explanation for this (from "hundreds of thousands" to "3+ million"). It's just coincidence that this is for September, riiiight?? Any ideas? #python #infosec
A graph produced by PyPIStats.org showing daily downloads for magic-wormhole over a few month period. There is a big jump (from "under 50k" to "about 150k" starting in September).

It turns out that some issues people have with async Rust are just downstream of hard concurrency problems.
