Personally.

I don't think it's that memes are radicalizing people per se. If I had to pin some root, theoretical foundation to it, it's that the participation in a social practice that inherently disconnects communication from meaning breaks the connection people have to reality and the effects of actions in the context of that reality.

If communication is subsumed by vague meaning not communicated but interpreted, then coherent action becomes impossible because all information is incoherent until someone interprets it to their own needs.

It is madness-inducing and it will only get worse.
