What is the one word that springs to mind when you think of an office for the end of your garden? What is a quality that you seek in a garden office? I bet it is not this one. Interesting branding... though I guess I ended up advertising it, so it worked.
An advert for a garden office, titled "New DOMINATOR garden offices", with a picture of a cuboid garden office with vaguely high spec materials.

You know that saying about how the way they treat asylum seekers is the way they’d treat everyone else if they thought they could get away with it? Well,
The Tories said the reduced subsistence allowance would be loaded onto pre-paid card that would not allow cash withdrawals, and would "prevent spending" on alcohol, cigarettes, or gambling.
The party is yet to detail how its proposal would work, but shadow welfare secretary Helen Whately said it would be "a version" of the pre-paid Aspen card issued to asylum seekers living in government-funded accommodation.
These cards cannot be used to make contactless, telephone or internet payments, whilst asylum seekers whose applications have failed cannot withdraw cash.

Enshittification is not new. The first example I ever came across was 'you don't need ketchup for your chips, because baked beans already come with tomato sauce'. I think this was probably quite formative as regards my laid-back personality and forgiveness of things being super super stupid.

I am reacting very normally to the plague of mosquitos that has descended on my flat and, on an unrelated note, I look forward to an incredibly personal round of mosquito tennis later.

I wrote an email to my Labour MP about the scandalous situation her government has got itself into. It's not the first, and I don't expect anything in return except some insincere bullshit. But I think that it is important to do if you can.

I had a little walkaround late yesterday afternoon to get some reference shots and textures for suburban London level design. These photos are *literally* as pedestrian as you can get, but there are still a few I like in their own right.
A mess of telegraph wires splaying out from a pole on a suburban London street (not pictured) against a clear blue skyA view of a row of houses at the top of a hill on the South Circular road (mostly empty) near Tulse Hill in South London. The sun is just below the horizon and casts a warm reflection on the windows of the houses. The sky is mostly clear with wisps of cloud.A close-up of a 20 mile per hour marking on a South London suburban road. The text "20" and the enclosing circle is very distorted, stretched into a very slender oval. A double yellow line can also be seen in one corner. Another 20 mph marking in the opposite direction is in the other corner. The white paint is unevenly worn. A jumble of different paving types on one stretch of pavement in a suburban South London road. Smaller reddish-brown interlaced bricks are inlaid on a drop-kerb, and larger grey concrete paving slabs continue in the foreground. Some of the slabs are missing and replaced by cracked asphalt. Some of the bricks and some of the slabs have been violently uplifted by tree roots underneath. The asphalt is partially dried out from a recent rain shower. Some small brown leaves a scattered about also.

The Post Office Tower in London was opened in 1965 as part of the UK's cold war communications infrastructure. It formed part of a backbone of line-of-sight microwave towers across the UK. It was officially a secret and not shown on maps. At nearly 200m tall, the Russian embassy probably found it.

A large group of co-ordinated, masked men blockading a piece of significant infrastructure is a security threat and should be dealt with as one. There should also be serious questions about why police/intelligence services didn't pick up on it in advance.

A hand holding an opened "Jack's" tin of tuna with the lid pressed down gently about half way down inside, now that most of the oil has been drained off. The label specifies net weight 145g and drained weight 102g.
