Incredible BBC-ing from the BBC here, responding to the axing of their queer-led shows like I Kissed a Boy/I Kissed a Girl and Drag Race UK by pointing out they’ve got Mr Loverman (a one-off miniseries aired in 2024) and some token gays in Amandaland

The BBC recently announced Smoggie Queens, which features predominantly
LGBTQ+ characters, would be renewed for a third series, and it represents the
community elsewhere through storylines in shows including Mr Loverman, Amandaland, Vigil and EastEnders.

I think the makers of Win the Wilderness realised that they'd messed up the structure and premise pretty quickly and I suspect a lot of off-screen shenanigans (apparently the winners ended up having to give the lodge back)
