Popped into our Special Collections at work (Southampton Solent University), and took another look at the Philip Mackie and Andrew Marshall archives. Material from Mr Rose and The Naked Civil Servant to The Burkiss Way and 2point4 Children! Ripe for a research project, if anyone wants one...

What a lovely evening at the BFI Bookish screening! It's a brilliant opening episode, so confident and pacy, and they left us on tenterhooks as the screening was of part one only! Have I worked out who (and how) dunnit? Judging by the reactions to my theory from Those In The Know... no 😂

Made a rare trip to Sainsbury's the other day, and it was a nice treat to see they have stuff on the shelves for once. Happy to HIGHLY RECOMMEND two new (to me) products, although I hasten to add that I only had six of the cheddar olives in my pack, not the pictured eight. End of exciting message.

Watching The Avengers: 'Mission... Highly Improbable' and do you know that Nicholas Courtney and Kevin Stoney worked together on TV in 1965 (Who: Daleks' Master Plan), 1966 (Watch the Birdies, directed by Camfield), 1967 (The Avengers) and 1968 (Who: The Invasion) Anyway, just thought that was neat

Very sorry to hear that Enyd Williams, producer of the excellent BBC radio Miss Marple and Poirot dramatisations, has died. She created an enduring legacy, and was a great help in my research. She also clarified that they were dramatisations, which gave the writers a higher fee than an 'adaptation'!

One of the joys of the old ITV Cluedo is the mix of panelists. Edwina Currie and Richard O'Brien, together at last! 👀 (I discussed the series with RTD when Andy and I wrote our book - he wrote an ep - and he remembered being told that the drama bits barely mattered! The gameplay needed fixing...)
