For anybody interested, Ida Lupino's 1950 film OUTRAGE is the first major motion picture to include sexual assault as a plot point. It's tells the story about rape through the Hays Code restrictions, and does so by turning the victim into a noir film protagonist--who was generally a man with PTSD.

the work that Mamdani is doing to undo the sins of Robert Moses is beyond admirable. even if the dereliction of recreation space didn't HAPPEN under Moses it was his work that made urban spaces not be considered a place for people to live and thrive.
