Done for the night! Taught my new group, who are splendid, and a cheering place to leave my various works at this point. Also picked up a new dissertation supervision which looks interesting. Busy! Sure hope I don't have any non-work issues in the coming months. Definitely won't happen, right?

Just got In, having been Out (all day out!). Spent an excellent day at the Salisbury early music festival. Three concerts and a talk, plus dinner at the Rifleman’s (café/restaurant for the regimental museum). The whole day has been EXCELLENT. Soz no photos (also no drink because car, also, fog!).

Started with Nadder Baroque in an intimate morning concert in the tiny Fovant Free Church. Building is 1820-ish and very much on the Quaker Meeting House model of that time. Very domestic effect for cello, two fiddles and spinnet playing things that folks would play at home.

The reason there are no penguins at the North Pole is because the polar bears eat them.

How to start describing this? Standing upright polar bear decorations with see-through bellies, in each of which are penguins with Christmas trees. The bears are wearing red scarves if that matters.
