I think it’s unconscionable that we are willing to move heaven and earth to find money for stadiums, but seemingly incapable of doing the same to prevent the closure of schools. My constituents are outraged. They are right to be. There’s still time to fix this, but we’re going to need to lock in.

Thanks to Kate for flagging this. It's especially important because the Council no longer has any approval authority over contracting. Until Council claws that back, and without clear directives, PPB can simply enter contracts for this stuff without any check or balance.

I am so tired of this false media narrative about a divided council. In 2026 we have voted 395 times so far. 59 of those votes ended in a 6-6 tie. Only two of those tied votes got a mayoral tie break. The rest were budget amendments or the presidential election. Don't believe the media hype
