At its core, our proposal is a tax on inequality, which is a scourge to us all - rich and poor. Inequality in income and wealth is a drag on our economy. We can and should tax the very corporations that cause it and use those proceeds to level the playing field and fund our services.

Our Fair Share Tax proposal is coming to Committee of the Whole this Thursday morning at 9:30. If you think it’s a good idea to cut taxes for small businesses, raise taxes on large mega corporations, while raising more money to fund critical services then we need to hear from you.

I am so tired of this false media narrative about a divided council. In 2026 we have voted 395 times so far. 59 of those votes ended in a 6-6 tie. Only two of those tied votes got a mayoral tie break. The rest were budget amendments or the presidential election. Don't believe the media hype

"This could have been a zoom call, quit wasting taxpayer money, now go solve all the intractable problems of our generation by yourself." Nope. I joined the Best Practices trip to Denver to learn about how they're solving the same problems Portland faces.

PBOT recently installed speed bumps along NE Prescott in my neighborhood of Parkrose. They are split into three sections each. Just a few blocks away on Fremont they're divided into four sections. I didn't know what the difference was so I asked Director Williams. Turns out, it's for firetrucks.
