#thingstowriteabout #piano She'd always felt she had no gift for playing the #piano, that she'd somehow faked her way into doing well, fooling others through the force of her desire and lots of (but still not enough) practice. As if the practice was cheating. Now she knows it was everything.

and yet i sometimes wonder
if those memories were but a trick
to mislead my foolish heart
into trusting that you truly loved me
but those paper flowers
your poetic inscriptions
planted around my soul
always bloom in defiance
refusing to conceive
that your heartfelt words
weren't truthful to me
