Once long ago, when time began
Shadow fell in love with the Sun

As the Sun traverses the sky, transfixed
Shadow perpetually follows in Sun’s wake

Morphing in shape, tone, number, texture
the devotion, compulsion has no limit

Aeon upon aeon Shadow will yearn
for a love which cannot be

Shadow only exists where the light

5 Jan 2022. Whilst out on a tiki tour heading up to Pakiri/Goat’s Island, of course we had to stop at a roadside stand to check out the wares on offer. The owner had a sprawling plot with all sorts of garages and barns. In front of one of the structures was a jumbling flower garden of orange and red calla lilies. Larger trees, shrubs, and grasses are in the background.

Just off centre to the left, in front of a teal metal wall of a garage, a rusted old tractor may have been retired and “put out to pasture” in this flower bed, but it’s still serving purpose! To wit:

- It’s a place for a chicken to catch some rays as they laze about on the tractor’s bonnet.
- It takes its part in a whimsical art exhibit of sorts and hangs out with other metal sculptures (to include its metal cat friend hanging out atop a chain-link structure just to the tractor’s right).
- It also makes for yet another joyful and colourful discovery on an impromptu mini road trip.

All important stuff, I reckon!
