In the spirit of England's difficulty being Ireland's opportunity, pretty much the only way I'd agree to this is if part of the price was the unification of Ireland. Most of us are doing fine without them, and after the trouble they caused with Brexit, why would anyone want them back?

The decision should have been made by the FAI but the players are a legitimate target for the boycott. When social-minded footballers are told "shut up and play", we criticise that attitude. Well the door swings both ways. They should be scrutinised for just shutting up and playing in this situation

Baltic boycotts expose holes in FAI case for playing Israel. Between 2024 and May of this year, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia opted out of competitive fixtures when drawn against Belarus in qualifiers. Their punishments were 3-0 defeats and, in one case, a small fine of €5,000. That seems a small pr

The Gardaí showed up one day to do a talk on the dangers of drugs. It was the 90s in Donegal and weed might as well have been heroin as far as they were concerned. Anyway they passed around two spliffs so we'd know what they looked like. Three were handed back and all hell broke loose

Slight diversion…but that headline does a disservice to men and women. The story is about a subset of Gen Z misogynists, not ‘men my age’. Framing misogyny as a generational male trait is part of the problem and risks normalising it, instead of calling it what it is.
